I’m Raki the visionary founder of Katwe Parkour Culture, born in the heart of Katwe slums.
Through dedication, resilience, and raw passion, I managed to qualify through hardworking and for the love of the sport and represent Uganda in world parkour champs in Japan. My journey from the streets to the international spotlight is a testament to the power of movement, discipline, and community. Now am focused on inspiring the next generation, using parkour as a tool to uplift, unite, and transform lives across Uganda and beyond.
Katwe Parkour Culture it’s an initiative founded by Raki in the heart of Katwe, Kampala, Uganda. This movement leverages the dynamic discipline of parkour to inspire, empower, and uplift youth in underserved communities.
Mission and Vision
Katwe Parkour Culture seeks to transform lives through movement. By introducing parkour—a discipline that emphasizes agility, creativity, and resilience, The vision is to cultivate a vibrant, self-sustaining community where youth can channel their energy into positive growth, develop life skills, and reimagine their environment as a space for opportunity rather than limitation.
Community Impact
Katwe, known for its vibrant informal economy and rich cultural history, faces challenges such as poverty, limited access to education, and youth unemployment. Initiatives like Katwe Parkour Culture play a crucial role in addressing these issues by offering alternative pathways for youth engagement and development.
Raki gets to know about Gnars through Isaac and Ephraim from skateboarding outreaches they were happening in different parts of the country and youth centers, We have been friends for a couple of years. They were drawn to Gnars mission of onboarding the next million shredders onchain and supporting action sports and fostering a global network of athletes.
Gnars DAO being a premier web3 action sports community, has attracted us to further connect with various Parkour athletes from around the world such as from Brazil, Asia.I feel stong joining this network and represent the shredder experience while utilizing this new blockchain technology.
